Cookies are small text files a website leaves in your browser. This page explains how thepiron.com uses them.

In short

We use no advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies. Google Analytics cookies for visit statistics are set only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, these cookies are not set and no request goes to Google.

Essential security cookies

The site runs on Cloudflare. To protect it from bot attacks, Cloudflare may, when needed, set a short-lived security cookie (such as __cf_bm). It does not identify you, is not used for advertising and lasts at most 30 minutes. It is essential for the site to run securely.

If you consent, Google Analytics 4 (Google) sets these cookies:

_ga: a pseudonymous ID that tells your browser apart from one visit to the next. Lifetime about 2 years.
_ga_LL1HZ1WXT8: keeps the state of the visit session. Lifetime about 2 years.

Purpose: to measure which pages and social media posts bring visits, and how often the contact form is sent. Advertising and personalisation permissions are off. Your choice is kept with its date in your browser’s local storage (piron-consent-v1); it is not sent to the server. After 6 months you are asked again.

Cookieless visit statistics

We also see which pages are read through Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not identify you; it only gives aggregate numbers.

When you leave for other sites

When you follow a link to Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube or a client site we reference, that site’s own cookies and policies apply. The site does not embed content from these services.

Managing cookies

You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of the page. When you withdraw consent, Google Analytics stops and the _ga cookies are deleted.

You can also view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential security cookie, the site may occasionally ask you for an extra check.
